A finish and a sprint to the [triathlon] finish

This adorable dress is finally finished!  She was pretty excited to be wearing it (or at least she was excited to be outside...) She is so wearing it to church next Sunday. I had a little trouble tacking the lining to the zipper. I did it too close and man, it was a mess. Mom to the rescue. :)  Thanks mom! I have a great black gingham waiting to be cut into for another dress for the little tiny. For her birthday, perhaps. :)

In other news, our team triathlon is tomorrow! Ack! My husband, best friendand I are doing an Olympic distance race. I have to admit to nerves thinking about it, even though J told me this is  going to be a "fun" race, whatever that means.  I'm not sure swimming a mile in a murky lake at a sprint is fun... what I'm really hoping is that my friend will be so excited about our team event that she will sign up for a race with me for next spring. Hint, hint. Anyone else in? There certainly isn't as much pressure going into the race, because you know you can sprint the one leg of the race without having to worry about having energy left for the next few hours of "fun."  Remember group projects in school? How you were either thrilled because you knew you could slack off a tiny bit and the outcome would still be good, or devastated because you know you are going to be doing all of the work? I think I fall more into the first category than the second one, at this point. I should have swam more. I should have swam faster.  But I did swim, I know I can do the distance at a decent pace... so, here goes!

Wish me luck!

Finally, its a quilt factory around here these days. Both of these are done!!! I'll post more pictures after they are given to their intended recipients :)Linked to Sew and Tell
